The University of Oklahoma Norman Campus Provost Office considered several commercial tools, including those designed specifically for the promotion and tenure process, as well as solutions that could integrate with existing HR systems. For Fall 2012, half of the promotion and tenure candidates are using an online pilot system, developed by Provost Mergler’s staff, that uses Xythos as the repository for the files.
The rest of the processes including development, administration of permissions and roles are handled by the Provost’s Assistant for Technology Initiatives, working with both college and departmental representatives.
